PROTECTING HOME & FAMILY
Fire Safety Tips
Plug out the phone before bed
A major trend has emerged in the past few years. Charging phones at night has led to loss of life and property.
close all doors
Studies have shown that more than half of people sleep with their bedroom door open.
You should always close your door when you go to bed. A closed bedroom door can slow the spread of flames, decrease temperatures, reduce smoke inhalation, and improve oxygen levels in the room.
have a plan
Every person in your household should know what to do in case of fire. Safely exiting the home is the most important thing. Make sure everybody knows their role.
Ensure equipment is working
Alarms should be tested once per week. Replace batteries regularly. Ensure fire extinguishers are serviced annually. Have a designated place for fire blankets and make sure your family can use the escape ladder.
I have been first on the scene at hundreds of house fires over the years and I have noticed how many of them are avoidable. When founding Florian, I ensured that we would use only the highest quality equipment.

It is shocking how many homes do not have adequate fire protection equipment.
